I felt like I could really let it all go. But I felt completely freed up after finishing The Maidens. I put so much of myself into the novel, with the group therapy and Cambridge, and I thought I would be burnt out when I finished it and that it would take a long time before I wrote something else. Writing is a bit like therapy I had stuff to work out. He also wrote the screenplay for the 2013 mystery film, The Devil You Know.
Alex Michaelides is a British-Cypriot author and screenwriter, best known for his best-selling debut novel, The Silent Patient, and the follow-up The Maidens, published in 2021.
